Old age blues

Everyone will be singing these blues sooner or later

My life has came to an endI welcomed death as a friendI lost all my physical strengthDeath almost stands at arm’s length

I walk like I am wading in dregsArthritis has claimed my legsMy breathing is all but hamstrungThe smoking had killed the left lung

My back’s no longer straightI gained quite a lot of weightTo treat my numerous illsI’m constantly popping pills

My vision is, also, blurredMy speech is somewhat slurredAll pains I will have to endureSince the aging cannot be cured

I am losing my mind as wellI recently lost sense of smellI praise you, my Lord, very muchThat I still have a sense of touch
