Inside job

What? How?.

The thieves broke into my headAll while I was asleepThey picked my brain and stole the thoughtsI thought were mine to keep

There were the experts, I’m afraidThey took the best I hadIdeas, secrets, the whole nine yardsThe stuff I’ve never said

My memories, like autumn’s leavesLay strewn across the floorI hardly know who I amAnd who I was before

Albeit, they fell into a trapThey didn’t bargain forSome toxic assets they picked upHeadaches, I have no more!
